Director and founders

Introducing Executive board members


Fire fighters without Borders was founded by Thorsten Hackl, Alfred Hamers and Clemens Kamp on april 16th 2007, in Tilburg, The Netherlands.

Alfred Hamers

Alfred is general manager at the foundation. He works as a safety-management advisor with the Tilburg fire department. He gives numerous training and is an on duty officer in the Tilburg region.

Thorsten Hackl

Thorsten course director at the foundation and is responsible for the training that we give. He works at the mid - west Brabant safety region as project worker on multidisciplinary cooperation. In his job he focuses on the disaster management and the cooperation with the other safety services. For several years he has trained international course on different subject, but mostly concerning hazardous materials and radiation. He is also an on duty advisor for hazardous materials.

Clemens Kamp

Clemens is the technical director at our foundation. He is the head of the material department at the mid/west Brabant Fire department.
In the past Clemens worked for Amnesty. He is also an on duty advisor for hazardous materials.
He has trained several fire departments around the world.

The board members

The board of the foundation exists of seven members. Beside the three Executive board members the following people are a involved into the board members.

Paul Verlaan.

Is chairman of the Board. He is also regional commander of the Mid- West Brabant fire department.

Johan Heijnen

Is boardmember.
In his daily work, Johan is a region manager.

Jan Meertens,

The third member of the board, and also founder and managing director of ICET B.V.

Judy Bergwerf.

Is secretary of the board.
Judy works as an advisor at the strategic management department of the regional fire department.
